We Must Look to Freedom and Peace.

We have given up more freedoms in the name of being safer than anything some angry men in the Middle-East can take from us.  We have now allowed congress to pass a law that allows American Citizens to be jailed indefinitely if they are accused of "terrorist actions" with out formal charges or a trail.
Oppression is be the taxation, restrictions, and jailing we will have as a direct cause of an all out invasion of 2 countries, and the fear of counter attacks as a result.  One does not hit a hornet's nest if you are afraid of being stung or attacked in the defense of the hive.
How are we free when every action is governed by rules, regulations, and laws?  Even having food in your house to feed your family for more than 7 days makes one suspect....  (Forget preparations for in-climate weather or a hatred for shopping often. )
One of the countries we invaded had the culprit, but we did not capture Bin Laden in nearly 10 years!  I know I would be angered by a country saying they are assisting to end violence but only precluding it for a longer period of time.  The other country we invaded had nothing to do with the 9-11 attacks while the leader of that country just happened to be a guy who eluded the 1st Bush president's attacks during the Gulf War. Why are tax payers having to suffer for presidential arrogance?

We will be held accountable for all the destruction we have cause. And the loss of very real freedoms will be the result. We will no longer be worried about the potential losses. We will simply see it 1st hand and suffer  very real consequences if we do not look to see where we can stop the real threats to out freedoms and liberties...

Freedom Through Killing Never Works

The killing of women and children has got to stop.  The war in the Middle-East is unpopular on all fronts; and it is not coincidental that every country who has given aid to the effort has now backed out and will not supply even the slightest of financial aid.
Even to look at it from the selfishness of the United State's front, no longer makes logical sense.  We have now lost more soldiers in the war (that was to last six months if it hit snags) than lost civilians in the 9-11 attacks themselves.  One can say that they are soldiers and that is a risk that they take. But this is a large number of lost lives in a war that looks to have the same reputation as Vietnam.   This number is without going into the numbers of soldiers who survived their injuries but can no longer enjoy life because of life altering disabilities they have because of the conflict.
This war is much more expensive than Vietnam; and is taking place during one of the largest recessions seen by any member of the current population.  It is well upon its way to bankrupt this country.  Or, at the very least, leave the future generations with a gigantic national debt.
Although many will try to say that we are fighting for our freedoms, I have to strongly disagree.  I will never make light of the lost innocent lives on US soil, but there has been a much greater taking of innocent lives by US troops.  (I know they are only following orders and are also fighting to protect their own lives during their own deployments.)  But, the innocents killed in the war because of US occupation equals nearly sixteen 9-11s!! Plus the utter destruction of their country and any chance of a recovery in the next 20 years is something that a United States citizen can not fully grasp because they have (and hopefully never will) experience anything like it!
Our freedom is secure.  If we hold strong, and do not allow the freedoms we do posses to be taken from us, no foreign threat can take us.    If the loss of less than 3,000 innocents can take away our freedom, our freedom is not strong enough to stand on its own anyways.  If we do not tear ourselves apart from the inside we can stand a chance;  but no amount of military force will be able to secure freedoms that must not exist if we fear their removal so easily.  Especially when our response has invasions of third world counties, making the US look like a group of rich warmongers more then true freedom loving individualists coming together to have the greatest country on earth.  To stand strong and show we are not afraid would be the showing real bravery and freedom from a powerful first world country!
If we do not give up the rights, as given to us by our Founding Fathers, because we fear who may use them to gain liberty and pursuit of happiness before we can; we will never stop being a free country.  We  must stop the needless killing and the surrendering of our rights.  Neither are freedom nor Liberty.  Once we turn both back to the direction our country was founded upon, can we will once again be a free and Liberated  United States of America!  The free-est country the world has every hoped to have!

Cannabis Sativa: Over Criminalization

I wish to start off by saying that I feel the use of marijuana is not only a huge waste of time and money, but also aids to keep people from every reaching their personal goals in life by making them lazy and fat from over eating and sloth due to the effects of the chemicals in its consumption. But, the laws that are in affect to guard against its use are far too harsh. Even if one is to say the laws are in place to help save people from the above ill effects, the ill effects brought on by the current criminalization of an individual who wishes to use this plant to get high are much greater than any harm the use of the plant would do to them. Studies have shown that the use of pot does decrease the ability for people to learn and has shown an increase in depression within long term use. But studies have never shown of people becoming violent or severely dangerous because of marijuana use.

Did you know if one is pulled over, for any reason, and even a very small amount of marijuana is found, that that person has their car impounded? They take away their vehicle just for any form of ownership of a naturally growing flower. They say it is to keep people from trafficking the drugs, but it is very rare that the person found with marijuana has enough to be considered “intent to sell”. Even if we want to keep the laws as is to limit drug trafficking, can we at least keep the impoundment limited to cases where there is enough of the drug to be considered “intent to sell or distribute”? We have seen this very thing abused of late.

Police are under investigation in Liberty, MO for allegedly planting drugs into high end SUVs so that they could buy them later at police auctions for a fraction of their book value. Let us hope this is not the case, but I have heard on numerous occasions of people going through Liberty and being stopped for reasons that they saw had no foundation and being ticketed on suspicious grounds when it was their word against a police officer’s and they could not fight the penalty handed to them. If the police are truly innocent let it come to light. But if they are guilty, I hope they see severe punishment for such a sick and twisted crime; one where people are put into cages and lose their vehicle and freedom due to one who is working within the law’s greed and covetousness of another’s property. Accountability needs to exist in all forms if law and order is to exist.
